The values we used can be found via the Standby Power government website. The exact values are from the 'Average (W)' column of the chart and they are either the 'Standby' or 'Ready' power consumption numbers. If the 'Standby' or 'Ready' values were not available then we used the 'Off' values.

* For the Blue-ray Player we used CNET's review of Sony's BDP-S570 The numbers can be found on the second page of the review. Specifically the Standby with the quick start option on.

** For the Fax, Laser we used the 'ON' numbers because they represent the 'Standby' power draw.

*** For the Modems we used the 'ON' values because in most situations the modem is intentionally never turned off.
